Facebook Ads are best suited for encouraging people to interact on Facebook. People don't like to leave FB to complete an action, buy something, etc. It's hard to convince people to stop interacting with their friends to view an advertiser's message.
I've managed FB Ads campaigns for companies in e-commerce, bricks & mortar retail, and lead generation industries. There are certain types of ads that routinely work well: discounts/coupons, exclusive content, and social interactions. Try offering different incentives to get people to sign up for your service (free trial, coupons, contests, etc.) and tie that into your landing page. Make it social so they can share with their friends. Campaigns work even better when users don't have to leave FB to interact, so consider a custom landing page on FB or interactive application within a tab on your page.

I agree with Andrew - Facebook ads are most effective in building a fan following on Facebook itself. Your Facebook fans become an important community to leverage to achieve your goal of more user registrations.

Thanks Joe! It is tough to manage my social media community. I often run out of content. I would like to try search engine optimization and keyword marketing to increase traffic, but is this something I can do myself or do I need to hire a professional to implement that? Thanks!

Thank you for the advice! I've been trying to offer a free greens fixer tool if anyone registers on mypinsight.com. I will try to get them just to like our fb page rather than having them leave fb.
